CU Model United Nations in New York

What is Model United Nations?

In Model United Nations, students research issues on the UN agenda and role-play as member states’ ambassadors. They prepare draft resolutions, negotiate compromises, and navigate UN rules of procedure – all in the interest of learning cooperation and conflict resolution.

We Support Model United Nations High School Clubs

UNA-Boulder supports the Model United Nations club at Boulder High School. (For information on MUN at Boulder High, see the
Wikipedia article.) A new club at Peak-to-Peak, a charter k-12 in Lafayette – has yet to seek our help. A club at Fairview High School is renewing its activity.

We Support Model United Nations at the University of Colorado

At CU, Model United Nations is a student-run club for those interested in diplomacy, world affairs, the inner workings of the United Nations, and solving the world's problems. The club holds an introductory meeting in the fall, meets every week during fall and spring semesters, and attends conferences in Denver, Las Vegas, and New York.

We Support Student Travel to International-Relations Seminars

UNA-Boulder has granted support to students attending international seminars in distant cities. After making ad-hoc grants for several years, the chapter raised donations from members for a student support fund. As of August, 2008, the fund stood at $3,050.
