LGBTQAI+ Resources

The LGBTQIA+ community in America constantly face a myriad atrocities; with the recent mass shooting in Colorado Springs, which targeted queer individuals, our hearts are breaking and calls to action are even more necessary now than ever. Club Q was a safe space for queer individuals who face constant obstacles when attempting to simply exist within a public space, and this was taken from them. During these times, and forever in the future, it is important for communities to assist the LGBTQIA+ community in any way possible. In the Boulder area, here is how you can help alongside UNA-BC:

  • Get involved with outboulder.org

  • Get involved with CU Boulder campus resources: GSA, OSTEM, QTPOC, and BYOG

  • National Victims of Violent Crimes: 1-202-467-8700

  • Colorado Crisis Services: 1-844-493-TALK (8225)

  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741

  • The Trevor Project: Text START to 678-678; 1-866-488-7386

  • LGBTQ+ National Hotline: 1-888-843-4564

We have all been impacted by this act of violence, check in with your loved ones, educate each other about action in a crisis situation, and do what you can to hold those in power accountable. The lives of individuals who simply want to exist and express in peace are being taken due to a massive lack of gun restricting legislation, discrimination, and hate - while it is easy and understandable to feel hopeless in these times, we need to support each other as a community and press for change.
