Sustainability Committee

Our Mission:

To support and promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #13 climate action and #15 life on land. Additionally, we are committed to enhancing greater knowledge of sustainable practices in order to grow a community of care.

The Sustainability Committee is dedicated to enhancing community knowledge of planetary health, in hopes to engage a larger context of people in regenerative practices. We aim to dismantle myths and stereotypes surrounding sustainability, and empower our members to live a more eco-conscious life.

The goals of the committee include hosting monthly learning sessions where we engage in conversations regarding various topics such as planetary health, the history of environmental justice, ecological justice, regenerative care etc., and how to implement them within our local areas.

Other goals of the committee include volunteering within the community at least 3 times a year in various ways in order to spread actionable awareness of the topics we are discussing. We have done this through a river clean up, where committee volunteers picked up trash along the Boulder Creek Path; through these efforts, volunteers removed 5 large trash-bags worth of discarded items. By doing this, the committee prevented potential harms that could have impacted wildlife, plant-life, water, soils and local residents of the area. In partnering with local experts, we aim to take steps within our community that have positive impacts for posterity and the planet.

We hope to facilitate more opportunities for volunteering in the future.
